What the Church Teaches: Purgatory
While purgatory is a defined dogma of the Catholic Church, many Catholics are unclear on what it is and why we believe it. It can also be difficult to convey to non-Catholics the truth about purgatory when asked questions like “didn’t Christ save us from our sins?” In this easy-to-read pamphlet, parishioners will learn what Purgatory is, where it’s found in Scripture and tradition, why we need it, and what it means for us as Christians. Understanding the nature and purpose of purgatory will open Catholics hearts to the reality that it is an expression of God’s love and mercy that will ultimately lead us to heaven.
